AKRON (Feb. 13, 2001) — German-based extruder and tire mold maker A-Z Formen- und Maschinenbau GmbH has established a new U.S. branch in Akron, to strengthen service to existing customers as well as create a presence in the North American market, the company said.
The company markets extrusion systems to both the new tire and retreading industries. Walter Seidel, president and sales manager of the new company, A-Z Americas L.L.C., said its CTC (cushion-to-casing) builder allows retreaders to apply cushion gum to casings automatically and without having to fill skives and buzz-outs separately.
The new company stocks spare parts for its equipment range and will be the clearing house for all service calls.
Besides Mr. Seidel, the new company is staffed by Barbara Fetter, administrative manager; and Richard Predl, parts manager.
