MATDA includes Oklahoma dealers
TOPEKA, Kan.—The Mid-America Tire Dealers Association has added to its membership dealers from Oklahoma.
The association, which represents dealers from Kansas and Nebraska, is seeking two Oklahoma dealers to sit on its board. Anyone interested in the seats or wanting to nominate a candidate should contact MATDA at (785) 233-9660.
The group also is accepting applications for its 2001 scholarship program. Its board will award six scholarships of $500 each to students planning to attend a tech school or tech college.
Application deadline is Jan. 31.
ITRA to host `Rubber Ball'
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—As part of its World ITRA Expo in Nashville, Tenn., next year, the International Tire & Rubber Association will host a new, semi-formal "Rubber Ball" reception, offering food and live entertainment.
The ITRA said the event, scheduled for the evening of Thursday, April 19, is intended to provide a pleasing social atmosphere in which to meet new acquaintances, renew old friendships and establish long-term business contacts. The $30 admission will include a drink ticket.
The Expo, scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, April 19-21, at the Opryland Hotel Convention Center in Nashville, will feature 14 hours of exhibits and 25 educational workshops for retreaders and tire repairers, commercial tire dealers and tire and rubber recyclers.

Iowa group to meet in Jan.
DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Tire Dealers Association will hold its annual meeting and trade show Jan. 26-27 at the Polk County Convention Complex in Des Moines.
The meeting will feature technical seminars and two evening receptions.
