AKRON (Dec. 27, 2000)—Richard L. "Dick" Hall, former vice president of Tire Centers Inc., died Dec. 12 in Akron. He was 68.
Mr. Hall spent nearly 41 years in the tire business, including 30 years at B.F. Goodrich Co., where he rose to area marketing director for tire store operations.
In 1986, after then-BFG employee Jim Berlin bought that company´s tire stores and renamed them Tire Centers Inc., Mr. Hall became the TCI´s first employee. He spent 11 years at TCI where his primary responsibility was dealing with suppliers.
"Dick was the one I guy I wanted," Mr. Berlin said of Mr. Hall in a retirement send-off in 1997.``He was looked up to and a trusted member of the store team."
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Geraldine, five children and eight grandchildren.
