BUFFALO, N.Y. (Dec. 4, 2000)—P. David Campbell, vice chairman and president of Goodyear Dunlop Tires North America Ltd., plans to retire March 31, 2001, after a more-than-30-year career. He will be replaced by James Galoppo, currently chief financial officer, who will serve as vice chairman and president.
The company said Mr. Campbell is credited with the turnaround of Dunlop Tire Corp., which had significant losses for 10 years before he became president and CEO in August 1995.
Mr. Campbell, in a prepared announcement, said he plans to devote his time to Christianity. "At this point in my life, I believe I am being called to give more of my time and experiences to Christian ministries," he added.
