    Service Jack

Lincoln Automotive, a unit of Century Lincoln Service Equipment, has introduced a heavy-duty, three-ton service jack, model W93652.

The company said the W93652 is designed with a heavy-duty frame for durability and a longer chassis to better service light trucks and sport-utility vehicles.

The unit has a "T-type" one-piece handle with a foam handle pad for easier positioning and lifting, and a sealed pump to prevent dirt damage.

The hydraulic unit also is more serviceable than are welded designs, the company said.

Contact: Inquiry Intelligence Systems, Dept. 806-000-007 (TB), 18 North Central, O'Fallon, Mo. 63366.

    Brake tool

Safe Shop Tools Inc. has introduced adapters for ArvinMeritor (formerly Rockwell) air disc brakes for the PakPress—a hand-held, hydraulic device for removing and installing studs without removing outboard hubs.

The tool works like a shop press, the company said, reducing the time needed to complete the job from two hours to 30 minutes.

The studs also can be removed without potential damage to the hub from pounding, or to the stud threads from impact wrenches.

The PakPress's pump is designed to accept the fit of a standard air hose and sends 10 tons of air pressure to a hydraulic ram inside the cast steel frame. The tool pushes on the threaded end of the stud, smoothly squeezing it out, and it pushes new studs in by their heads to install them.

    Diagnostic tools

Matco Tools, a Danaher Company, has introduced the Determinator line of hand-held diagnostic tools. The line has eight devices including: ABS reader for anti-lock brake systems, battery/charger analyzer, fuel injection/EGR tester, distributorless-direct ignition system tester and others.

All the units carry a three-year warranty, Matco said, and include comprehensive instructions and accessories for extensive vehicle coverage.

    OTR tire patch

Rema Tip Top/North America Inc. has introduced an uncured patch program for bias-ply OTR tire repair. The set contains 18 patches with 6- to 24-inch diameter patches and 4- to 22-ply thickness, uncured vulcanizing cement and rope rubber.

The ``RXU'' patches are flexible, the company said, and can be vulcanized in an autoclave or hot mold. The patches also are constructed with a 90-degree angle cord body to match the construction of current OTR tire sizes.

    Contact: Rema Tip Top/North America Inc. Phone: (800) 225-REMA (7362) or (201) 768-8100. Fax: (201) 768-0946. Internet: www.rematiptop.com.

    Wrench Sets;

S-K Hand Tool Corp. has introduced 11-piece fractional and metric sets of the Facom-brand 40R Series "Rapid-Action" combination wrenches. The open-end design works like a ratchet, S-K said, allowing the user to reposition the wrench without disengaging it from the fastener head.

The jaw design grips the fastener at three points of contact, providing torque from the top jaw and three-point contact rather than at the corner of the fastener. This feature makes the tool more effective on damaged fasteners and where the fastener is hidden from view.

The wrenches are made of cold-forged alloy steel and have a lifetime warranty.

    Suspension parts

Air Lift Co. has introduced the "Easy Street" program which allows customers to purchase individual parts of a suspension system instead of purchasing the whole system. Air Lift said it is the only suspension manufacturer to offer a program like this.

The company also offers completely integrated systems for mid-60s to early 70s Chevrolet Novas, 1967-72 Chevrolet, 1983-99 two-wheel-drive S-10, 1988-98 Chevrolet one-half ton and 1999 and 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks.

Contact: Air Lift. Phone: (800) 248-0892. Internet: www.airliftcompany.com.

    Mufflers

Bosal USA Inc. has introduced the "Chameleon" muffler system that features six interchangeable exhaust tips to provide different styles from the same muffler. The tips are interchanged by removing six Allen bolts and each tip provides an integral, gas-tight flange.

Chameleon mufflers are initially being offered in five- and six-inch diameter configurations with vehicle specific systems for the 2000 Ford Focus, 2000 Toyota Celica, 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse and 2000 Mazda Protege.

The 2000 series literature includes a pocket guide, a fitment guide and a product catalog. The fitment guide provides an alphabetical list of vehicle makes and models with part numbers for compatible wheels and wheel hardware.
