BETHESDA, Md. (Oct. 19, 200)—Students pursuing careers in the automotive aftermarket now can apply for $1,000 annual scholarships available through the Tire Association of North America and the Specialty Equipment Market Association—two of the auto industry organizations sponsoring the program.
The deadline for filing is Feb. 28, 2001.
Applicants must be graduating seniors or recent high school grads enrolled full-time in either college-level or National Automotive Technician Education Foundation accredited technical programs in the U.S. or Canada. Graduate programs and part-time undergraduate programs do not quality.
The scholarships are funded through the proceeds of the annual Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium, which examines industry trends and issues and is scheduled for May 17-18 at the Wyatt Regency O´Hare hotel in Chicago.
