Asphalt-rubber topic of workshop
OAKLAND, Calif.—A workshop on asphalt-rubber, sponsored by the Northern California Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Technology Center, will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the Hilton Airport Hotel in Oakland.
Conducted by the Rubber Pavements Association (RPA), Tempe, Ariz., the seminar will include information on asphalt rubber, its specifications and applications.

ASA, GE offer CarCareOnecard
BEDFORD, Texas—The Automotive Service Association and GE Card Services are offering the CarCareONE credit card program for ASA National members.
The plan offers a 90-days-same-as-cash program for purchases of more than $150. The transaction discount rate is, in most cases, lower than the rate shop owners often pay to accept MasterCard and Visa in their shops, according to GE Card Services.

ITRA to publish CTS directory
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The International Tire and Rubber Association has approved the creation of a 2001 ITRA Certified Commercial Tire Service Directory.
Along with the directory, the ITRA plans to initiate a marketing campaign encouraging fleets to patronize dealerships that employ ITRA Certified Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Technicians. Outdoor signage and vehicle decals also will be available to qualifying companies in addition to other items that further identify them with the ITRA certification.
"We want to send a message to the transportation industry," said ITRA President Bob Sherwood.
