WASHINGTON (Sept. 1, 2000)—Ford Motor Co. CEO Jacques Nasser has changed his mind and will testify after all before a joint House subcommittee hearing Sept. 6.
Mr. Nasser announced his change of heart during a media conference call. Previously, Ford´s CEO said he was too busy directing the recall of 6.5 million Firestone tires to appear at the hearing which concerns the conduct of the recall.
Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. CEO Masatoshi Ono affirmed his appearance at the hearing early on, as did Ford engineering executives Helen Petrauskas and Tom Baughman.
