    Brake pads

Raybestos Brakes has added 46 more part numbers to its Quiet Stop line of brake pads. There are now 84 part numbers in the line to fit import and domestic autos and sport-utility vehicles.

Quiet Stop brakes pads are made from an exclusive blend of ceramic ingredients instead of iron fibers and steel powders. The company also said these brake pads will provide quiet braking and low wheel dusting.

They are 100-percent shimmed, slotted and chamfered, recover rapidly and resist fade, the firm said.

    Shop flooring

Endura Flooring, a division of Biltrite Corp., has introduced Endura OGR oil- and grease-resistant rubber flooring for use in service bays. OGR is available in sculpted-flat or raised-square profiles in four colors and has a 10-year warranty.

The company said OGR has high slip-retardance, will not crack or chip, even under constant vehicle traffic, and is impervious to most automotive and other vehicle fluids. OGR is self-healing and also self-waxing, eliminating the need for waxing or sealing and thus reducing maintenance costs, Endura said.

Contact: Endura Flooring. Phone: (781) 647-1700, Ext. 315. E-mail: [email protected] Internet: www.endura-flooring.com.

    Nitrogen station

Nitronics Systems Inc. has developed a lower cost Tire Conversion Station to convert tires from air to nitrogen by using either cylinders of high-pressure nitrogen or the company's Nitronic nitrogen generator.

The unit has an advanced microprocessor design for controlling the conversion and a "fast purge" system for converting an air-filled tire to high-purity nitrogen more quickly while using less nitrogen.

Nitronics said that air diffuses from tires 30 to 40 percent faster than nitrogen, and nitrogen-filled tires contribute to fuel economy by reducing underinflation.

Contact: Nitronics Systems Inc. Phone: (303) 604-1187. Fax: (303) 604-1470. E-mail: [email protected] com. Internet: www.nitronics.com.

    Truck alignment

Josam Products Inc. has debuted the Truckaligner laser-guided, portable, computerized truck alignment system.

Truckaligner's hand-held computer guides the process with step-by-step instructions for technicians and has rechargeable batteries that provide up to 8 hours of field operation before recharging.

Truckaligner generates graphic and tabular reports that can be downloaded to a personal computer for printing. The unit also features a digital inclinometer that automatically compensates for uneven floors, Josam said, and the unit can be calibrated on the job in a matter of a few minutes without special jigs.

Truckaligner's display can easily be read either in bright sunlight or dimly lit conditions, the firm said.

    Cap nut wrenches

Ken-Tool has introduced three cap nut wrenches for use on truck wheels: a double-end wrench and two heavy-duty models.

The double-end model TX50 (30620) Combination Cap Nut Wrench provides two sizes in one wrench: one-half inch and 0.41 mm. The wrench slides underneath the center disc of the wheel, reducing slippage during nut removal, the company said.

    The heavy-duty wrenches—model TX241 (30619), 41 mm. in size, and model TX200 (30618), 1.5 inches—will not slip or rotate out of position, Ken-Tool said.

Their unique design allows these wrenches to rest snugly against the center hole, reducing the possibility of rim damage.

    Tire cutters

Rema Tip Top/North America Inc. has introduced a line of electric tire cutters to remove fabric or steel-reinforced patches or regroove commercial light and medium truck tires and off-the-road tires.

The G4 Tire Cutter has a small, ergonomic pistol grip with integrated on/off switch and four temperature settings.

The "deluxe" G5 model's control unit features a digital display with 99 different temperature settings. The cutting head has spring-loaded clamping jaws for easier blade changes.

Both models come with a wrench for exchanging blades and spare cutting blades. Additional angled or rounded cutting blades also are available.

    Oil Filter

Mighty Auto Parts has launched the Engine Guard II line of oil and air filters. Designed and manufactured to ISO 9001 quality standards, Mighty said the new oil filter has 90-percent efficiency in tests documented by the Society of Automotive Engineers.

The filter has a steel body and chemically treated micro-fiber filter media that the company said is 10- to 13-percent more efficient than conventional filters.

An anti-drain valve holds oil in the filter to restore oil pressure more quickly when he engine is started.

    Aluminum Cleaner

Busch Enterprises Inc. is offering Busch Super Shine Aluminum Polish, a liquid polish for uncoated aluminum surfaces. Oxidization, water spots and streaks are more easily removed with fewer wipes, the company said.

The polish also works with power buffers and can be used on brass, copper and stainless steel as well. Super Shine is 100-percent ammonia-free for reduced dulling by water. Buffing residue wipes off easily, the company said, and washes off hands with soap and water.
