RESTON, Va. (Aug. 7, 2000)—Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, National Public Radio´s Garrison Keillor and the Raspyni Brothers are among the highlights of the Tire Association of North America´s 2000 convention and trade show.
TANA´s International Tire Expo will be held Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in Las Vegas. As in years past, the ITE will feature four special events for tire dealers, a series of training seminars and an exhibition held in conjunction with the Specialty Equipment Market Association show at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
"This is a first-class lineup of entertainment for tire dealers," said TANA President Tom Wright. "We hope this year´s International Tire Expo will be the best ever."
The association´s headquarters hotel this year will be the Aladdin Resort and Casino, located next to the Paris Hotel and Casino and across the street from the Bellagio Hotel.
TANA and SEMA also have launched the ITE online, which can be accessed on TANA´s homepage at www.tana.net as well as at www.semashow.com. The Web site includes a full schedule of events, an online show floor map, a show directory and links to help attendees schedule appointments with exhibitors and register for the show.

TANA´s four "special events" scheduled for the week of ITE include:
*The ITE Gala Reception, to be held 6:30-9:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 30 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Tickets are $40.
*TANA´s annual meeting and Hall of Fame Breakfast, to be held 7-9 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino. The event is sponsored by Goodyear and features a keynote speech from Mr. Gretzky. TANA will honor its 2000 class of Hall of Fame inductees. Cost is $25.
*Breakfast with the President, sponsored by Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. and scheduled for 7-9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1, also at the Aladdin. Mr. Keillor will host this event while Cooper will give away $25,000 to a lucky attendee. Presentations will be given by outgoing TANA President Tom Wright and the incoming president, Nick Hodel. Tickets for the breakfast are $25.
*Tire Dealer Appreciation Breakfast, to be held 7-9 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Aladdin. Toyo Tire (USA) Corp. is sponsoring this event, which will be highlighted by the Raspyni Brothers—comedians and jugglers seen on the Tonight Show and David Letterman. Toyo also will give away vacations at the destination resort of choice to several attendees. Tickets are $25.
