WASHINGTON (July 18, 2000)—Mazda (North America) Inc. and Fleetwood Enterprises are contacting vehicle owners about tire-related safety problems, according to the latest recall list from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Mazda is sending revised information to owners of 58,621 MPV minivans manufactured between March 1999 and March 2000.
Some 39,095 of the MPVs have tire information labels that don´t comply with federal standards, and another 19,526 equipped with 16-inch original equipment tires have the wrong inflation pressure on the label.
Fleetwood, meanwhile, is recalling 3,897 Fleetwood Jamboree, Tioga and Montara motor homes because their spare wheels have insufficient weight-carrying capacity when matched with a maximum-loaded tire.
