OTDRA taps Jones as new president
CINCINNATI—The Ohio Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association elected Randy Jones of Anderson's Tire Man Auto Center in Maumee, Ohio, as its president for the 2000-2001 term.
The group elected other officers and awarded five $500 scholarships during its annual convention/supplier showcase, June 22-25 in Cincinnati.
New officers include: Larry Kane of Terry's Tire Town in Alliance, first vice president; Jim Federico of Federico Tire & Auto Service in Painesville, second vice president; and George Birsic of Lakewood Firestone in Lakewood, treasurer.
Groups to hold recycling forum
TORONTO—The Scrap Tire Management Council and the Rubber Association of Canada (RAC) will hold "Rubber Recycling 2000," a biennial conference and exhibition, Oct. 11-13 at the Delta Meadowvale Resort & Conference Centre.
The event will feature speakers discussing "hands-on, real-life experience" with rubber recycling applications, the RAC said. Some of the issues to be covered include updates on provinces and selected states, rubber modified asphalt and marketing to government and industry.
The exhibit will present products and services illustrating the breadth and scope of recycled rubber products and technology.
Registration fees prior to Aug. 15 are $265 (U.S.) or $375 (Can.). After Aug. 15, fees will be $305 (U.S.) or $410 (Can.). Room rates are $159 (Can.) for a single or a double.

TRIB to exhibit at school bus expo
RENO, Nev.—The Tire Retread Information Bureau will exhibit at the STN School Bus Expo 2000, to be held Aug. 1 at the Reno Hilton Hotel.
The TRIB booth will feature a school bus display with retreaded tires, retread information packets and videos, and other hand-outs.
