Goodyear wins harassment case
PEORIA, Ill.—A federal court recently exonerated Goodyear in a sexual harassment lawsuit brought by eight male employees at the company's Normal, Ill., tire assembly plant.
A jury in U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, in Peoria, upheld Goodyear's claim that it "acted responsibly" in handling the situation, the firm said. The plaintiffs said Goodyear knew what was happening but didn't take prompt action, a company spokesman said.
The plaintiffs said they endured physical, mental and sexual harassment from a male supervisor, who was fired after a company investigation.
