NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 11, 2000)—Goodyear presented its first-ever Next-Tred Retreader of the Year Award to Suburban Tire Inc., based in Dayton, Ohio, during the recent World ITRA Expo in Nashville.
The tire maker selected the dealership for its highest retreader honor from 167 company-owned and independent retread shops.
"Suburban Tire has demonstrated its leadership position in numerous ways by participating in local, regional and national advisory boards as well as working closely with trucking and tire associations in the Dayton area," said JB Jaboor, general manager of Next-Tred. Goodyear recently selected Next-Tred as the name of its retreading system.
Suburban Tire President Jeff Lecklider, who received the award during the Expo´s general session, gave credit to the hard work and dedication of the company´s 100 employees and to the firm´s strong relationship with Goodyear.
"We have always been committed to providing the Dayton area with outstanding Goodyear products and services," he said.
With nearly 2 acres under one roof at its Dayton headquarters, Suburban Tire calls itself the largest Goodyear dealership in the U.S. That facility, which offers new tires, wheel and rim service, and maintenance service for cars, light trucks and commercial vehicles, also boasts a 15,000-sq.-ft., Next-Tred retread plant producing nearly 45,000 tires annually.
In addition to the Dayton location, the dealership operates combination retail and commercial outlets in Indianapolis and Columbus, Indiana.
