N.E. group chooses new name, officers BOXBOROUGH, Mass.—The New England Association of Independent Tire Dealers changed its name, unveiled a dealer locator Web site and elected new officers at its convention, held April 7-9 in Boxborough.
The group's new name is the New England Tire & Service Association (NE/TSA). It chose that name to draw tire dealers who primarily offer automotive service, according to Executive Director John Whiting-Grant.
The association also debuted a dealer locator Internet site—www.tiresellers.com—to draw customers to its members, Mr. Whiting-Grant said. The site allows users to search for tire/auto service providers in New England, by area, lists what types of auto service members offer and provides links to members' Web pages.
Newly elected officers include: Bob Katz of Nu-Tread Tire Co. Inc. in East Boston, Mass., president; Larry Lesieur of Maynard & Lesieur Inc. in Nashua, N.H., vice president/treasurer; and Alan Saks of Dorchester Tire Service Inc. in Boston, secretary.
