MARIETTA, Ga. (May 5, 2000) — Penske Auto Centers Inc. has opted to implement an inventory management system developed by E3 Corp.
The 657 Penske outlets nationwide will install E3 Corp.´s E3SLIM system to help standardize and streamline the auto service provider´s inventory management and replenishment system, reduce inventory and increase profitability, according to Marietta-based E3. The rollout, announced in March, is expected to be completed within six to nine months.
"We chose the E3 solution because we wanted a system that would enable us to reach our goal of reducing inventory by 20 percent while continuing to provide outstanding customer service and maintaining strong relations with our partners," said Jeff Edwards, vice president of purchasing at Penske Auto Centers.
"It was also important to standardize our systems as part of our plan to build a solid business platform for future growth."
