GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 27, 2000)—Michelin North America Inc. is contributing $25,000 to the Educational Foundation of International Tire and Rubber Association.
Rita Shourds, executive director of the ITRA-sponsored foundation, said she is "extremely pleased" to have Michelin´s financial support.
"This donation will go a long way toward helping the foundation continue to provide quality programs and services," she said.
Randy Clark, director of marketing for Michelin Americas Truck Tires, said the Greenville-based tire maker was honored to play a role in assisting the foundation, which he said "improves the lives of so many people through its wide variety of programs and services."
The purpose of the foundation is to increase public awareness of the tire, rubber and transportation industries and provide educational and training services including school-to-work initiatives, welfare-to-work programs and educational publications.
