WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (April 24, 2000)—Marangoni Tread North America Inc. will introduce new equipment and announce the location of a new North American tread rubber plant during the International Tire and Rubber Association´s World Expo May 1-3 in Nashville, Tenn.
The retread systems supplier also "probably" will announce a newly signed franchisee at the show, said Jack Woodland, president and CEO.
Mr. Woodland said Marangoni is closing in on its goal of signing 20 franchises by the end of 2000 with many prospects in the wings. "We´re still going along that way and we´re going as fast as we can get the equipment from Europe."
The company´s franchisees now number six—Ray Carr Tires Inc. in Harrisonburg, Va.; A to Z Tire & Battery Inc. in Amarillo, Texas; Systeme de Rechapage RTS System Inc. in Montreal; Ranger Tires in Farmingdale, N.Y.; and two unidentified retreaders in the southeastern U.S. and western Canada.
The firm will display the ITT1000 shearography inspection machine and the new Ringtreader 1000 tire builder—two machines made for dealers who retread 50 to 80 tires per day, Mr. Woodland said.
