LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The 2000 World International Tire and Rubber Association Expo will feature former NFL quarterback Archie Manning as keynote speaker, a slate of 24 workshops and a current roster of 175 exhibitors covering 60,000 square feet of space. The ITRA Expo will be held April 30-May 3 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.
Myers Tire Supply will sponsor the keynote address on Tuesday, May 2, in which Mr. Manning will discuss the tools necessary for succeeding in business.
The ITRA Expo will begin Sunday, April 30, with the ITRA Educational Foundation Golf Tournament at the General's Retreat Course at the Hermitage.
That evening, tire and rubber recyclers will hold a welcoming reception that will be followed by the ITRA Awards Banquet.
Harvey Brodsky, executive director of the Tire Retread Information Bureau, and the late W.W. "Bill" Marsh, former executive secretary of the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (now the Tire Association of North America) will be inducted into the International Tire & Rubber Industry Hall of Fame at that event.
The exhibit hall will open Monday, May 1, with hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day and the next, and 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 3.
Also Monday evening, ITRA will sponsor a welcoming reception "A Nashville Homecoming." The group's membership meeting will be held as part of a breakfast with ITRA President Randy Drake at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.
