Northwest dealers pick new officers KENNEWICK, Wash.—The Northwest Tire Dealers Association selected new officers during its recent membership meeting in Portland, Ore.
New officers for the Washington State Tire Dealers Association include: Tom Bolser of Specialty Tire in Marysville, president; Paul Williams of Pasco Tire Factory in Pasco, president-elect; Roger Overbeck of Globe Tire Distributors in Ellensburg, vice president, and Randy Walker of Howard's Tire Factory in Toppenish, secretary/treasurer. New directors are Del Rankin of Tire Sales & Service in Yakima, and Herb Davenport of Pyramid's Tires for Less in Auburn.
The Oregon Tire Dealers Association also elected new officers, including: Bob Campbell of Bob's OK Tire in Salem, president; Ed Miller of Ed's Tire Factory in Medford, president-elect; Buzz Forbes of Auto Pro's in Eugene, vice president; Klyde Thompson of Del's OK Tire Factory in Astoria, director-at-large; and Doug Kaess of G & J Tire in Corvallis, director.

MATDA holds trade show/convention
HUTCHINSON, Kan.—The Mid-America Tire Dealers Association held its annual convention and trade show Feb. 12-13 in Hutchinson and elected new directors.
They are: Gary Albright of Becker Tire & Treading Inc. in Great Bend, Kan.; Ron Champlin of Christensen Oil Co. in Concordia, Kan.; Mike Garrett of Garrett Tires in Grand Island, Neb.; Rod Koons of Co-op Grain & Supply in Hillsboro, Kan.; Don Nebelsick of Don's Tire & Supply Inc. in Abilene, Kan.; Jack Rundle of Wolken Tire in Garnett Kan.; and Mike Thompson of Thompson's OK Tire in Beloit, Kan.
The group presented its Industry Service Award to Jerry Glasgow, owner of Performance Tire & Wheel, Topeka, Kan., and its Employee of the Year award to Scott Emig, a service technician at Don's Tire in Abilene, Kan.
Showpower set for Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Showpower 2000, the annual undercar and transmission aftermarket industry trade show, will be March 30 through April 2 at the Commonwealth Convention Center in Louisville.
Nearly 200 exhibit booths will feature the latest parts, equipment, tools and services for the transmission and undercar repair markets, according to Michelle Dickemann, Showpower Expo coordinator. Also included are four days of transmission, driveline, brake, exhaust, chassis and business management seminars.

Essen show in June
NEW YORK—Reifen 2000, the International Trade Fair for Tires, will be June 20-23 in the Messe Essen Exhibition Complex in Essen, Germany.
So far, 16 U.S. firms have signed to participate, including Myers International, Treadways Corp., TBC Worldwide, Admiral Heintz, ESCO Equipment, Zisser Tire & Wheel, Bruno Wessel Inc., Presti Rubber Products and Janak Global Exports.
