ITRA introduces repair video LOUISVILLE, Ky.—As part of its ongoing training efforts, the International Tire and Rubber Association is offering a 24-minute video called "Basic Nail Hole & Tube Repairing."
The video features industry guidelines and step-by-step procedures for doing tube repairs and for installing two-piece and one-piece tubeless tire repairs.
The workbook includes a post-test and skills demonstration lab sheet that must be completed by the technician and signed by a member of the company's management team. ITRA will issue a certificate of training to those successfully completing the test.
ITRA members may purchase the video for $49.95 or as part of a set of three module training videos for $99. The workbook is an additional $10.

West. States TASA elects new officers
HAYWARD, Calif.—The Western States Tire & Automotive Service Association, which serves northern California and Nevada, has elected new officers and directors.
Officers are: Don Howard of Sacramento Truck Tire Service in Sacramento, Calif., president; John Sanford of Sanford Tire & Brake in Pacifica, Calif., first vice president; Dale Gowers of Am Pac Tire Distributors in Union City, Calif., second vice president; and Mike Waite of Merced Tire Co., in Merced, Calif., secretary/treasurer.
New directors include: Dave Redfern of Redwood General Tire, Redwood City, Calif.; Robert Raisner of Dapper Tire, Sacramento; and Scott Elrod of Sacramento Truck Tire Service, Sacramento.
Brodksy to speak to Alaska group
PACIFIC GROVE, Calif.—Harvey Brodsky, managing director of the Tire Retread Information Bureau, will speak at the Alaska Trucking Association meeting March 16 at the Captain Cook Hotel, Anchorage, Alaska.
Mr. Brodsky will discuss the economic benefits of using retreaded tires and the importance of proper tire maintenance, the true causes of rubber on the road and how to select a good retreader.
