CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Feb. 10, 2000)—Continental General Tire Inc. plans to introduce a new family of tires aimed at the sport-utility-vehicle market as well as expand some its existing product lines.

This S- and T-rated all-season radial features an 80,000-mile limited treadwear warranty and has appeared as original equipment on a number of popular vehicles, including the 2000-model Ford Contour/Mercury Mystique, Buick Century and Nissan Sentra.
The T-rated ContiTouringContact CT85, which also features an 80,000-mile limited warranty, will be relaunched in the third quarter as the ContiTouringContact CT85 PLUS, with a new tread design and improved noise treatment.
CGT will debut the T-rated Continental TouringContact AS in the second quarter in 35 sizes. This all-season radial is an aftermarket version of the OE tire the company supplies for fitment on the 2000 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable.
