Schauer named TRMG chairperson LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Tread Rubber and Tire Repair Materials Manufacturers' Group (TRMG) has elected Don Schauer its chairperson. He is manager of fleet communication planning for Bandag Inc.
Other officers elected include: Michael Chambers of Tech International Inc., vice chairman; Bob Miner of Marangoni North America, secretary; and Ramey Thompson of Associated Rubber Co., treasurer.
Missouri TDRA picks exec director
COLUMBIA, Mo.—The Missouri Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association's board unanimously elected Sheri Hamilton as the group's new executive director Oct. 10.
Ms. Hamilton is an independent association manager and events planner with Kansas City, Mo.-based Hamilton & Associates. In addition to the MTDRA, she also manages the Automotive Service Association of Greater Kansas City.
She replaces Jim Courtney, who resigned due to failing health.
RMA releases speaker list
WASHINGTON—The Rubber Manufacturers Association has released the list of speakers for its joint Tire Products Group/General Products Group annual meetings, scheduled for Feb. 26-28 at the Wigwam Resort at Litchfield Park, Ariz.
Speakers include Frank Luntz, pollster-of-record for the Contract with America and one of the "nine most influential minds" in the Republican Party, according to USA Today; Barry Asmus, senior economist for the National Center for Policy Analysis; and Josephine S. Cooper, president of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers.

PBTG elects new board
CLEARWATER, Fla.—The Private Brand Tire Group has elected William "Bill" Hirst, vice president of Treadways Corp., as president. He replaces Tom Brawley, who will serve as past president.
Don Helker, Del-Nat Tire Corp. vice president, was named PBTG vice president. John O'Rourke, who is executive director of Summit Tire in Brandon, Fla., was elected secretary-treasurer.
Also elected to the board were Tom Beasley, sales manager for Greenball Corp., and Steve Ganin, vice president of Reynolds Tire Co. in Brooklyn, N.Y.
All the positions have two-year terms.
