    Clutch kits L&S Automotive Products Co. has expanded its line of clutch kits to cover 98 percent of domestic and imported cars and light trucks and medium-duty domestic trucks up to 3 tons.

    L&S claims it is the first company to offer a complete five-piece kit including a clutch cover, clutch disc, release bearing, pilot bushing/bearing (where applicable) and a clutch alignment tool.

    Floor jack

    Gray Professional Service Equipment has introduced the model FSJ-40 two-ton floor jack with a 4-inch starting height that ranges to a maximum of 19.5 inches.

    Gray said the model, constructed with a 5/16-inch heavy-duty steel frame, has a unique hydraulic foot pedal to expedite the lifting process.

    Creeper pad

    Prism Enterprises Inc. has introduced the MityMat creeper pad made of non-absorbent PVC foam.

    Available in red or black, the MityMat measures 20240 inches and, the company said, is impervious to automotive and household chemicals, oil and grease.

    Replacement cables

    Motormite, a division of R&B Inc., has expanded its line of Cable-All! aftermarket replacement cables for domestic and imported vehicles.

    Motormite offers 700 SKUs encompassing 85 percent of the original equipment market and 75 percent of the replacement cable market, including many SUVs and minivans.

    Cable-All! cables are installation-ready replacements for: speedometer cables, accelerator cables, clutch cables, manual and automatic transmission shift cables and automatic transmission detent cables.

    Coolant exchanger

    MotorVac Technologies Inc. has introduced the CoolantClean coolant exchange system, designed to exchange virtually all of a vehicle's used coolant in less than 15 minutes.

    MotorVac said the closed-loop system has one-switch multi-function operation, a 42-quart capacity, is portable and operates on 12 volt DC power.

    Fuel cleaning

    Cyclo Industries LLC has developed a professional fuel cleaning system that can be used to clean fuel injectors, intake valves, ports and combustion chambers.

    Cyclo said the system will restore performance and reduce emissions.

    Wynn's Oil Co. has developed an induction system cleaning kit for fuel systems and EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) passageways.

    Hub tools

    Kiene Diesel Accessories Inc. has introduced the Wheel Whiz, a device to remove seized aluminum and steel disc wheels.

    Kiene said use of the unit prevents operator injury as well as damage to a wheel and hub.

    Safe Shop Tools Inc. has introduced the Back Buddy II tool for removing hubs and drums.

    The unit features a fold-down handle for better access to low-profile vehicles, the firm said, and a ratchet jack to raise and lower hubs and drums more quickly.

    The jack has 14 inches of vertical travel and can be raised 20 times faster than the original Back Buddy, the company said.

    The new model comes with adapters to fit hubs virtually any Class 5 through Class 8 truck or trailer.

    Alignment manual

    OTC, a division of SPX Corp., has published an updated version of its Technician's Guide to Alignment and Suspension.

    The manual, No. 106288, covers 1990 to 1998 model GM, Ford and Chrysler autos, vans and pickup trucks, listing what OTC-brand tools are needed to perform specific jobs as well as time-saving tips.

    Jobs covered include: ball joint, tie rod, MacPherson strut, conventional spring service and front- and rear-end alignment.

    Alignment systems

    Hunter Engineering Co. has introduced the Series 611 Wheel Alignment System featuring ``Virtual View,'' which allows a technician to view alignments in a three-dimensional perspective while checking the status of alignment angle specifications.

    The WinAlign 4.0 software accompanying the system allows a technician to select from 19 different conditions to measure tire wear and document tread depth and pressure.

    Hunter said an ExpressAlign feature speeds up an alignment by reducing to a minimum the number of steps needed to complete the job.

    Users of Hunter's Series 211 or Series 411 alignment consoles can have their systems upgraded on site in about two hours by a Hunter rep.

    Parts washer

    Hydro-Blast Inc. has debuted an improved Model 35 Aqueous Parts Washer that uses no solvents or hazardous chemicals to clean small parts, but rather an all-metal-safe detergent in a hot aqueous solution to clean grease, grime and contaminants.

    The Model 35's width has been increased to 42 inches from previous versions, and its turntable has a 25-inch load capacity. The company said the pump-intake cleaning strainer has been moved next to the external pump for easy cleaning access.
