Heater Solaronics Inc. has introduced the DOORJET heater, which automatically directs a stream of heated air toward an outside bay door when it is opened.

The company said the heated air will temper the effect of cold air rushing inside through an open door and helps lower heating costs.

When a door is opened, a remote switch automatically starts the DOORJET's fan and burner blowing heated air toward the door opening. When the door is closed, the unit automatically shuts off.

Typically, a single unit heats door openings up to 12 feet by 12 feet, the company said.

    Contact: Solaronics Inc., Dept. TB, P.O. Box 217, Rochester, Mich. 48308. Phone: (800) 223-5355. Fax: (248) 651-0357. E-mail: [email protected] Internet: www.solaronicsusa.com.

    Tire changer

Tire Service Equipment Manufacturing Co. Inc. has introduced the CH-21 small wheel and trailer tire changer (S.W.A.T.T.), designed for 4- to 12-inch lug center or bearing-in-hub wheels.

The company said the unit can easily accommodate odd-size wheels with its ``quick adjust'' center post allowing quick wheel changes.

Contact: Tire Service Equipment Manufacturing Co. Inc., Dept. TB. 3451 S. 40th St., Phoenix, Ariz. 85040-1905. Phone: (602) 437-5020. Fax: (602) 437-5025. Internet: www.tsissg.com.

    Truck alignment

Josam Products Inc. is offering a new software package for its Laser AM wheel alignment equipment for trucks, trailers and buses.

The software allows the computer to do calculations, print before and after graphic reports and store information to the hard drive.

Josam said the system can align three axles in about 30 minutes and is accurate to within 0.02 inch over 100 repetitions.

Contact: Josam Inc., Dept. TB, 8849 Exchange Drive, Orlando, Fla. 32809. Phone: (407) 438-7020. Fax: (407) 438-9281.

    Coolant equipment

The Robinair division of SPX Corp. has introduced the Model 75600 AF Pro coolant exchanger and Model 75650 AF Pro Plus coolant recycler—both designed to provide reliable coolant management without the necessity of waiting for the engine to cool down, the company said.

The units feature two on-board tanks, one of which fits inside the other, to save space and allow ease of movement. They also have durable, lightweight, high-impact polyethylene cabinets for scratch protection near vehicles.

SPX said both models save time by draining and refilling coolant in one step—50-percent faster than conventional systems.

Contact: Robinair, SPX Corp., Dept. TB, 1224 Robinair Way, Montpelier, Ohio 43543. Phone: (419) 485-5561. Fax: (419) 485-8300.

    Dryers

Kaeser Compressors Inc. has introduced the Secotec series of cycling dryers.

The units feature a cycling control that operates the refrigerant compressor only when necessary for maximum efficiency, the company said.

The units also employ an air-to-air heat exchanger to precool the intake air to reduce refrigeration load.

Each unit features a stainless steel separator and electric demand drain for reliability, according to the company.

Contact: Kaeser Compressors Inc., Dept. TB, P.O. Box 946, Fredericksburg, Va. 22404. Phone: (540) 898-5500. Fax: (540) 898-5520. Internet: www.kaeser.com.

    Tire pressure pump

The Cycloid Co. has introduced a 121 psi pump, which continuously maintains proper tire pressure on trucks equipped with low profile or super single tires.

The Cycloid ACS pump is self-contained and powered by the forward rotation of the wheel.

Designed for 500,000 miles of use, the pump comes with a standard 2-year warranty or optional 3-year warranty. Stainless steel covers and easy-to-read pressure gauges are available as options.

Contact: Cycloid Co., Dept. TB, 301 Commerce Park Drive, Cranberry Twp., Pa. 16066. Phone: (888) 292-5643. Internet: www.cycloid.com.

    Aluminum polish

Alcoa has developed a new polish for aluminum surfaces.

Called PDQ Brightener, the liquid contains ``specially-tested Alcoa alumina abrasives.'' It spreads easily by hand or with an orbital buffer, according to the company.

PDQ Brightener is designed for use with other Alcoa Aluminum Care System products on uncoated surfaces such as wheels, fuel tanks and tool boxes.

The company said laboratory tests show the system protects the shine on aluminum surfaces six times longer than ordinary cleaning and polishing.

Contact: High Velocity Marketing, Dept. TB, P.O. Box 642, Marietta, Ohio 45750. Phone: (800) 510-3058. Or call Alcoa Customer Service: (800) 242-9898, option 5.

    Impact wrench

The ATP Division of Hy-Tech Machine Inc. has developed a new heavy-duty, 1.5-inch, square-drive impact wrench.

According to the company, the wrench, Model ATP1578LT-TH, has a ball and cam clutch for powerful rotary impacts.

Contact: ATP Division, Hy-Tech Machine Inc., Dept. TB, 25 Leonberg Road, Cranberry Twp., Pa. 16066. Phone: (800) 245-1148. Fax: (724) 772-0227. E-mail: [email protected] Internet: www.hy-techinc.com.

    Repair kits

Rema Tip Top/North America Inc. has introduced packaging options for its Minicombi nail-hole repair units that allow orders in smaller quantities at a lower unit price to reduce inventories and minimize patch waste.

The new packaging includes a 50-gram tube of Special Cement BL in the A6 (1/4 inch) and B8 (5/16 inch) sizes.

Contact: Rema Tip Top/North America Inc., Dept. TB, 200 Paris Ave., Northvale, N.J. 07647. Phone: (201) 768-8100. Internet: www.rematiptop.com.

    Auto theft deterrent

I & E Tire Corp. has introduced the Tire Deflator, a product designed to deter auto theft.

Installed and locked in place on any Schrader-type tire valve, the unit uses the motion energy from the wheel to function. Unauthorized driving of the vehicle with the Tire Deflator in place will reduce a tire's air pressure by about 50 percent, according to I&E.

Tampering with the unit also will cause the tire to deflate.

    Contact: I & E Tire Corp., Dept. TB, 611 Smith St., Box 543, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11231. Phone: (718) 625-1300. Fax: (718) 643-9855. E-mail: [email protected]

    Publications

Haltec Corp. has issued a catalog covering its line of tire valves and related products for autos, trucks, tractors and other applications.

The publication includes a full line of Alcoa wheel accessories for light and heavy-duty trucks.

Teknor Apex Co. has published a 12-page brochure describing the company's line of precure retreading materials.

The brochure covers treads for various applications such as line-haul, city driving, refuse and waste hauling, intercity pickup and delivery, light truck and off-the-road applications.
