Wilbur N. Creech ORANGEBURG, S.C.—Wilbur N. Creech, 76, former co-owner of Quality Tire Service Inc., died July 19 in a Charleston, S.C., hospital.
He co-owned and operated the Orangeburg-based dealership for more than 30 years, retiring in 1987.
Mr. Creech is survived by his wife, Carolyn, who also worked at the firm for 30 years, a son and a daughter.
J. Steve Warren
GRAHAM, N.C.—J. Steve Warren, 73, retired former owner of Bulla Warren Tire Co. in Graham, died Aug. 9.
He founded the dealership in 1959 and operated it 10 years before retiring for health reasons in 1969.
Mr. Warren is survived by his wife, Helen, and two sons.
John R. Philpot
HUDSON, Fla.—John R. Philpot, 70, former owner of Hudson Tire and Auto in Hudson, died July 18.
He had owned the firm for about four years before selling it and retiring in 1978. Mr. Hudson leaves his wife, Hazel, two daughters and a son.
Willard h. Parks Sr.
KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Willard H. Parks Sr., 59, former corporate secretary and manager for D & B Tire Service in Kansas City, Kan., died Sept. 8.
Mr. Parks worked for D & B for 25 years. At the same time, he also worked for 27 years at the General Motors Corp. plant in Kansas City before retiring about four years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Lula, and two sons.
Robert G. Weddle
ORLANDO, Fla.—Robert G. Weddle, 59, co-owner of Lee Road Tire Center in Orlando, died July 15.
Mr. Weddle worked at the dealership with associate Larry Lott for 19 years before they became co-owners 11 years ago. Mr. Lott will continue to operate the firm.
Mr. Weddle is survived by his wife, Billie Jo, and two sons.
