NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Pirelli Tire North America has formed a new technical sales training department to support Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s sales efforts in expanding Pirelli distribution in North America. Pirelli said its new training team, headed by Jack DiMaio, will focus on educating Pirelli dealers about product and technical information.
The team consists of corporate and field personnel. Mr. DiMaio is a 20-year Pirelli veteran with experience in technical training and support and customer service.
Five training specialists who had previously served as Pirelli's district sales managers will cover four regions—Ben Berry for the Northeast; Joseph Mustipher in the Southeast; Roger Brace and Bob McCarty in the Midwest; and Dean Hale for the West.
The corporate team, consisting of Gary Bennard, Dave Ortoli and Anthony Migliozzi, will focus on major ``hands on'' training activities such as "ride and drives" and developing new communication tools for dealers using Pirelli's Internet and Intranet networks.
All three previously were part of Pirelli's marketing department.
In addition to the sales training team, Pirelli has conducted a series of training seminars at Cooper's headquarters in Findlay, Ohio, to educate the Cooper sales and marketing organization about Pirelli.
