HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.—Sears, Roebuck and Co. has introduced the RoadHandler Voyager LX, a line of touring radial tires for cars and minivans with a 100,000- mile limited treadwear warranty covering 22 of the 25 sizes. Engineers from Goodyear's Kelly-Springfield unit designed the tire, but a Sears spokesman wouldn't say where it is being made.
Sears said the Roadhandler Voyager LX has "a predicted treadlife that is among the longest in the industry," adding that after a 100,000-mile tire test in Texas, a set had "tread to spare."
The tread design features dual aquachannels and dense blading to enhance performance in rain or snow, Sears said.
