Tire changer Myers Tire Supply, a Myers Industries company, has debuted the TNT-200 tire changer designed for mounting and demounting 17.5- to 24.5-inch tubeless tires.

Myers said the TNT-200 is especially effective for demounting difficult tires such as the super-single duplex and 445222.5 tire without damaging tire beads.

Contact: Myers Tire Supply, Dept. TB, 1293 S. Main St., Akron, Ohio 44301. Phone: (330) 761-6104. Fax: (330) 761-6111.

    Bead seater

Equipment Supply Co. has introduced the "Astra" air-operated tubeless bead seater for truck, agricultural and off-highway tires.

According to ESCO, the Astra sets the beads on tubeless tires with less effort and without the high-pressure kickback of older models.

The new air quick release mechanism releases 100 percent of the air in the tank instantaneously to seat the bead immediately. The unit has a five-gallon tank and new exhaust design and its fingertip controls are protected against breakage.

    Brake lathes

Van Norman Equipment Co. Inc. is offering the Single Feed V17 combination disc and drum brake lathe.

The machine's cutter assembly is designed for easy, chatter-free one-pass machining of rotors and drums. A silencer positioned above the bits engages in seconds to reduce noise.

The company said the V17 has a spindle speed of 115 rpm and a fixed feed for ease of operation. A cast iron base with large dove tail ways offers maximum rigidity.

Contact: Van Norman Equipment Co. Inc., Dept. TB, P.O. Box 148, Winona, Minn. 55987-0148. Phone: (888) 855-1789; (608) 539-5222. Fax: (608) 539-5223. E-mail: [email protected]

Hennessy Industries Inc. has introduced the Ammco-brand model 3860BLE brake lathe featuring negative rake tools, which the manufacturer said increases the life of the unit's cutting bits.

The Model 3860BLE—available with several different adapter packages and in several different configurations—is designed for faster setup and has a chip diversion guard to keep metal shavings away from the operating mechanism.

Contact: Hennessy Industries Inc., Dept. TB, P.O. Box 3002, 1601 J.P. Hennessy Drive, LaVergne, Tenn. 37086-1982. Phone: (800) 688-6496. Internet: www.hennessy-ind.com.

    Fuel/emissions cleaner

Robinair, SPX Corp.'s new 81000 Fuel/Emissions Service solution is designed to clean a vehicle's fuel and emissions system of carbon build-up from fuel injector tips, the throttle plate and the catalytic converter in 10 to 15 minutes.

The unit, which uses ESS cleaner solution, allows injection directly into the air intake. An on-board air reservoir makes the unit portable and able to service several vehicles before needing to be recharged.

Large gauges and built-in diagnostics make it simple to check fuel pressure, injector leak down and engine vacuum, the company said.

Contact: Robinair SPX Corp., Dept. TB, 1224 Robinair Way, Montpelier, Ohio 43543. Phone: (419) 485-5561. Fax: (419) 485-8300.

    Shock absorber

KYB America LLC, a subsidiary of Kayaba Industry Co. Ltd., has launched the AGX line of high performance gas shock absorbers that are adjustable for ride characteristics, from racing to street driving.

The shocks can be adjusted without having to lift the car or remove components via a handle on the shock body or a screw head located at the top of the piston rod.

Contact: KYB America LLC, Dept. TB, 901 Oak Creek Drive, Lombard, Ill. 60148. Phone: (630) 620-5555. Fax: (630) 620-8133. Internet: www.kyb.com.

    Portable tire step

Safe Shop Tools Inc./ has introduced the Stepper, a compact, adjustable steel platform that fits over most truck tires.

The firm said the unit provides safe, secure footing for working on engines and windshields while eliminating the need for a step ladder.

The Stepper locks on the front or rear tires on either side of a vehicle and folds into a compact size for transportation or storage.
