Bainbridge takes post with SEMA CYPRESS. Calif.—After three years as director of marketing, William ``Bill'' Bainbridge is leaving Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Inc. to join the Specialty Equipment Market Association, effective July 13.
At SEMA, he will serve as vice president of marketing, filling the post of the late Don Turney, who died in November 1997.
In his new position, Mr. Bainbridge will be responsible for all SEMA trade shows, including regional events, member benefits and services, committees and councils, and publications.
TANA accepting 'hall' nominations
RESTON, Va.—The Tire Association of North America is accepting nominations for the Tire Industry Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame, which currently has more than 70 inductees, celebrates the achievements of leaders who have shaped the tire industry in the 20th century. It is open to manufacturers, inventors, publishers, equipment suppliers, tire dealers and retreaders.
New inductees will be feted during the new Hall of Fame breakfast, which will take place Nov. 2 in Las Vegas at TANA's annual trade show, the International Tire Exposition.

Tradways moves headquarters to Pa.
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—Treadways Corp. has relocated its corporate headquarters from South San Francisco to North Wales, Pa.
Relocating to the new offices will be Dan Wire, president and CEO of Treadways, John Fedro, vice president of sales and marketing for the Eldorado Tire division, and Michael Rubenstein, vice president of finance.
Sumitomo Tire's South San Francisco office will continue to house Sumitomo customer service, operations and accounting. Those functions for Laramie Tire and Jetzon/Telstar Tire will remain in Norristown, Pa.
Eldorado Tire's Troy, Mich., location closed on June 1.

New president for Toyo Tire
CYPRESS, Calif.—S. Kibata has been named president of Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp., effective Aug. 1.
President for the past three years of Toyo Canada Inc., Mr. Kibata will succeed Kazuo Nagai, who has been named general manager, Overseas Operations Division, for Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd.'s headquarters in Tokyo.
During his 30 years with the company, Mr. Kibata has held a variety of sales and marketing positions, including director of OTR sales for the U.S. market.
Kilcoyne joins Bandamatic in U.S.
NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Joseph Kilcoyne, a staff member of the International Tire and Rubber Association for the past six years, has joined Bandamatic Systems Inc. as vice president of sales and marketing.
Bandamatic, with offices and warehouses in Houston, is a subsidiary of Hules Banda in Mexico, a producer of mold cure and precure tread rubber, curing tubes and truck tire flaps. The company also is one of Mexico's largest tire dealerships and retreaders.
Mr. Kilcoyne, who will handle sales and marketing for Bandamatic in the U.S., left as ITRA's director of member services on June 30.
He helped expand the ITRA's international presence and was active in promoting and marketing the association.
TB reporter gets promotion
AKRON—Tire Business senior reporter Sigmund J. Mikolajczyk was promoted on June 30 to the post of assistant managing editor/senior reporter.
The eight-year TB veteran takes on additional responsibility for helping manage the publication, and will continue to report as well as help in editing and layout duties.
David E. Zielasko, editor and vice president/publisher, said the promotion ``reflects the confidence we have in Sig and the important role he has played in making Tire Business the No.1 tire dealer publication.''
