AKRON—Goodyear introduced ``Gemini Automotive Care''—the replacement for its 15-year-old Certified Auto Service (CAS) program— June 17. Calling Gemini one of its most ambitious, most important program launches ever, the company plans to begin a gradual rollout of the new concept to some 1,000 independent CAS dealerships and 700 company-owned outlets July 1, with an official kickoff for consumers slated for Sept. 1.
The more ``customer-friendly'' Gemini stores are aimed at building greater public awareness of Goodyear's automotive service offerings, the company said, adding that studies have shown its CAS format has only a 2 percent public recognition factor.
