CHARLOTTE, N.C.—To address the growing need for automotive service technicians, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) and Universal Technical Institute (UTI) have launched an educational partnership. The first NASCAR Technical Institute, due to open in the spring 2001, will be built in the Charlotte area and will accommodate up to 1,800 automotive and collision repair students. Plans call for multiple schools around the country.
