Cleaner No Touch has introduced a ``Try Me'' five-ounce-sized can of its Deep Purple foaming cleaner and shine that will clean and treat about six wheels, rims and hub caps.

The company also is offering other products in this size including: No Touch Glass and Surface Cleaner, Wet N' Protect, Premium Tire Care and Auto Glass Stripper.

Contact: No Touch, Dept. TB, 8001 Irvine Center Drive, Suite 450, Irvine, Calif. 92618. Phone: (800) 348-5999. Fax: (949) 753-0760. Internet: www.notouch.com.

    Battery Charger

VDC Electronic Inc. is offering the BatteryMINDer' battery charger/maintainer/conditioner for 12-volt storage batteries.

The unit is designed to recharge and recondition ``sulphated'' batteries—the primary reason for early battery failure, the company said.

A special circuit sends high frequency pulses that break down sulphated crystals inside older batteries, allowing them to be fully recharged, VDC said. The unit comes with a hydrometer battery tester, quick-connect terminal assemblies and a five-year warranty.

    Contact: VDC Electronics Inc., Dept. TB, P.O. Box 5537, Englewood, N.J. 07631-5537. Phone: (800) 379-5579. Fax: (516) 423-8029. Internet: www.vdcelectronics.com.

    Catalog

White Industries has new full-color catalogs for products and accessories.

The 36-page catalog includes more than 50 new items from White's air conditioning, transmission and coolant handling lines and related tools while the 20-page accessory catalog has more than 50 new items.

Both catalogs are available free from the company's Internet site: www.whiteac.com or by calling (800) 633-2827.

    Tire brander

Everhot Manufacturing Co. has developed the No. 59 electric tire brander, which holds four one-inch or five 3/4-inch characters and operates on 115 volts or 230 volts.

The company said branded tires provide positive identification and cut down on theft or switching.

Contact: Everhot Manufacturing Co., Dept. TB, 57 S. 19th Ave., Maywood, Ill. 60153. Phone: (708) 856-7070.

    Service light

Golight Inc. has introduced the Model 7901 RadioRay', a portable, remote-controlled spotlight, with magnetic shoe, that can be rotated horizontally and tilted vertically with a handheld remote from up to 150 feet away.

The RadioRay is powered by a vehicle's 12-volt battery and has a 15-foot power cord that plugs into a cigarette lighter.

Contact: Golight Inc., Dept. TB, Rt. 3, Box 37B, Culberston, Neb. 69024. Phone: (800) 557-0098. Fax: (308) 278-2525. E-mail: [email protected] Internet: www.golight.com.

    Hand Tools

Sidewinder Products Inc. presents the Swivel Shaft Bit Driver, designed for both straight-drive and angled-drive applications.

The tool functions as a regular screwdriver, but will drive at an angle when its knurled sleeve is unscrewed.

The Swivel Shaft Bit Driver has a 60-degree angular range, soft handle for better grip, the company said, and includes five standard one-inch S-2 bits (P#1, P#2, P#3, 3/16- and 1/4-inch) which are stored inside the handle.

Contact: Sidewinder Products Corp., Dept. TB, 850 Municipal Drive, Birmingham, Ala. 35216. Phone: (205) 979-0422. Fax: (205) 979-5118.

Snap-on Tools Co. has introduced the CT30 Cord-Free Impact Wrench, a four-pound, 3/8-inch power wrench with T-shaped handle that operates without air hoses or an electrical outlet.

The company said the wrench, powered by a 9.6 volt battery pack, has a maximum speed of 2,100 rpm, installs lugnuts with a torque of 50 pounds per foot and delivers 2,650 impact blows per minute.

Contact: Snap-on Tools Co., Dept. TB, P.O. Box 1410, Kenosha, Wis. 53141-1410. Phone: (414) 656-5200.

    Wheel Nut

Hayes Lemmerz International Inc. has debuted the HAYES-L-NUT' wheel fastening system for heavy trucks and trailers.

It claims the unit is designed to withstand up to seven times the tension of standard systems, and its unique design reduces the amount of torque loss during seating.

The nut has M22x1.5 thread for use with hub piloted wheel mounting systems and recommended torque values of 450 to 500 ft.-lbs.

Contact: Hayes Lemmerz International Inc., Dept. TB 38481 Huron River Dr., Romulus, Mich. 48174. Phone: (734) 941-2000. Internet: www.hayes-lemmerz.com.

    Wheel Bearing Kit

Federal Mogul is offering five National'/BCA' trailer wheel bearing kits designed to fit nearly every wheel end application from 3/4-inch to 1-3/8-inch axle shafts.

Each kit includes two original equipment-quality BCA wheel bearings, one National seal, grease pack, cotter pin and detailed instructions.

Contact: Federal-Mogul Marketing, Dept. TB, P.O. Box 1966, Detroit, Mich. 48235. Internet: www.federal-mogul.com.

    Bead Breaker

Farmex Inc. has available the Bead-Cheata', a compact, portable tool, which it said can remove and remount tires without removing the wheels from such vehicles as tractors, wagons, combines, backhoes, recreational vehicles, trailers, all-terrain vehicles and golf carts.

The Bead-Cheata—made from solid industrial casting—is designed for changing tires outside of the shop, Farmex said. It features a unique series of adjusting screws and a cam-locking device to securely clamp to a variety of rims and wheels, yet is small enough to fit into a toolbox.

Contact: Farmex Inc., Dept. TB, 1205 Danner Road, Aurora, Ohio 44202. Phone: (800) 821-9542. Fax: (330) 562-7403. E-mail: [email protected] Internet: www.farmexinc.com.

    Flameless Torch

Josam Products has introduced a self-contained, electric inductive heater that can be used to loosen frozen fasteners, anneal welds, and shrink or straighten metal.

The company said its Josam Induction Heating System has a recirculating water cooling system so it can be used near electrical wiring or air lines, yet it heats only the area touched by the flameless torch.

The system operates with 220 volt, three-phase power. The firm claims the torch heats up 10 times faster than a conventional gas torch, with electric power providing a 95-percent reduction in cost over gas fuel.

Contact: Josam Products, Dept. TB, 8849 Exchange Drive, Orlando, Fla. 32809. Phone: (407) 438-7020. Fax: (407) 438-9281.

    Tire Patch

North Shore Laboratories Corp. has debuted its Safety Seal+Plus+The Liquid Patch tire repair system.

North Shore claims the product requires no mechanical buffing and conforms to industry standards.

This system has two components: a sealant to fill in the puncture and a liquid patch to seal the inner liner. Components are available separately or in kits.

Contact: North Shore Laboratories Corp., Dept. TB, P.O. Box 129, Peabody, Mass., 01960. Phone: (800) 888-9021. Fax: (978) 532-3509. E-mail: [email protected] Internet: www.safetyseal.com.

    Brake Tester

Hunter Engineering Co. said its new B400T Heavy Duty Brake-In-Motion computerized brake balance tester requires no special training to operate, and conducts tests without multiple or complete stops.

To test truck brakes with the B400T, a vehicle is driven at 40 mph over the plates while applying the brakes evenly. Hunter said its PC-based computer software records and interprets the results, showing brake force and dynamic weight for each wheel position. Results can then be printed.

Contact: Hunter Engineering Co., Dept. TB, 11250 Hunter Drive, Bridgeton, Mo. 63044. Phone: (314) 731-3020.
