MTDRA elects new exec. director BALLWIN, Mo.—The Missouri Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association has elected Jerry Dunlap as executive director, effective April 1.
He replaces Jim Courtney, who resigned due to illness.

RMA elects new board members
RANCHO BERNARDO, Calif.—Three tire-company executives were elected to the Rubber Manufacturers Association board during the group's March 6-8 meetings in Rancho Bernardo.
Approved for three-year terms were: Kenji Shibata, president of Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.; Patrick Rooney, chairman of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.; and James Morton Jr., vice president of public relations and government affairs at Michelin North America.
Other directors elected include: William Johnson, chairman of Goshen Rubber Co.; Richard Bing, vice president of Mark IV Industries Inc. and president of Dayco Products Inc.; Gary Butcher, president of Chicago Rawhide Manufacturing Co.; and Al Stechlein, president of the Americas for Gates Rubber.
Maryland groups to offer A/C classes
PASADENA, Md.—The Maryland Tire Dealers Association and the Chesapeake Automotive Wholesalers Association (CAWA) are sponsoring two classes on air conditioning for automotive service technicians.
The first, a basic A/C clinic focusing on the fundamentals of A/C service, will be April 20.
An April 27 class (not a clinic) will discuss changes in A/C systems for 1999.
Both will be presented by Bob Wagner of Wagner-Iannone Co. and Parker & Associates at CAWA's offices in Pasadena. Registration costs for each class are $30 for MTDA or CAWA members and $40 for non-members.
