NASHVILLE, Tenn.—To help its commercial dealers stay up-to-speed on the company's new-truck tire products, Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. has developed a new software program. Called InterAct 1.0, the software is BFS' way of packaging information on its truck tires in an easy-to-use, electronic format, said Dave Kolasinsky, BFS Truck Tire Marketing Manager.
InterAct contains tire information, company history, a glossary of truck tire terminology, some racing information and a tire selector. The software is available on CD-ROM for Bridgestone and Firestone brands only.
Dealers can use InterAct to search for specific tire sizes and call up information on that product.
Because several of InterAct's items are downloadable, dealers and BFS sales associates can easily use the data contained in the software for presentations to customers, a BFS spokeswoman said.
BFS has made the Windows-based software available free to dealers, fleet customers, original equipment customers and truck stops; 2,500 copies initially were released and reprints already have been ordered.
BFS plans to update the software every six months or whenever it introduces new tires.
Dealers can receive the software by sending an e-mail request to BFS' new commercial Web site: www.trucktires.com.
