LOS ANGELES—Tire Factory Groupe L.L.C. has expanded its network to 151 locations, including its first sites outside of California, and expects to add another 30 sites or more in the coming weeks. Members of the buying collective have agreed to make using Tire Factory signage compulsory. As a result, Tire Factory Groupe (TFG) will qualify as one of North America's 10 largest independent dealership networks. The group now numbers 57 dealer members, operating 151 locations.
TFG members have decided to adopt the same Tire Factory logo used by Northwest Tire Factory L.P., which is informally allied with the Los Angeles-based collective, said Michael Levitt, executive director and sales manager of TFG.
More than 250 tire retail stores throughout seven western states will be flying the Tire Factory flag.
TFG has scheduled an annual meeting and suppliers convention for April 21 in Los Angeles, Mr. Levitt said. Among new vendors affiliated with TFG are three wheel suppliers—ASA/Hankook Tire America, Secura, and U.S. Wheel Corp.
The average TFG outlet reports $3.5 million in annual sales, Mr. Levitt said, which would put the combined marketing clout of the group at well over $500 million.
