Garry S. Goyak MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill.—Garry S. Goyak, 57, president of Vogue Tyre and Rubber Co. in Mt. Prospect, died suddenly on Feb. 10 in Maywood, Ill. Mr. Goyak had been employed by Vogue for 33 years and was president for the last three years.
Mr. Goyak is survived by his wife, Helen, two children, five grandchildren and a brother.
John W. Pew
LYNDHURST, Ohio—Former tire dealer John W. Pew, 80, died on Oct. 8 at Meridia Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
Mr. Pew had owned Stephens and Barrow Co., a tire recapping firm in Cleveland, for about 20 years, and served as president of the Cleveland Tire Dealers Association during the 1970s.
Stephens and Barrow was destroyed by fire in the late 1960s and went out of business. Mr. Pew then worked for Victor Bodie Tire Co. for 15 years before retiring.
Mr. Pew is survived by his wife, Anne, a daughter and a son.
Charles L. Largent
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.—Charles L. Largent of Walnut Creek, a 38-year Firestone veteran, died Jan. 10 of pneumonia. He was 89.
Beginning in a Firestone store in Bartlesville, Okla., in 1933, Mr. Largent held increasingly responsible positions with the tire maker and in 1959 was named general trade sales manager, working out of the company's Akron headquarters. He later returned to Dallas as division manager before retiring in 1971.
Survivors include his son, Michael, who is president of California Tire Co.
