Do you support manufacturers' establishment of minimum retail tire prices such as those adopted by Michelin for its BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A?
I support Michelin in its quest to return profitability to its popular All Terrain T/A. We all wish there was an easier way to accomplish this task. The program will cost MAST untold millions of dollars and substantial loss of unit sales in its implementation.
As a wholesaler, I am going to be the hardest hit by the new program in that I cannot sell an All Terrain T/A tire to any of my independent dealer customers...and become simply a point-of-delivery for the product.
Nevertheless, we will stand steadfast behind the program from inception to success. I believe that strongly in the cause.

I think Michelin, BFG etc. should remember that one little word in our names—Independent!

It is a sad commentary that a tire manufacturer has to come up with a pricing policy to protect the tire industry as a whole from its own worse enemy, namely, itself.

Hopefully, Michelin will do the same for all the major brands they've been selling.
