U.S. Chamber CEO at RMA meeting WASHINGTON—Thomas Donahue, president/CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will speak at the annual Rubber Manufacturers Association Tire Products Group/General Products Group meeting, scheduled for March 6-8 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, San Diego.

Gene Stanaland, the ``Will Rogers of Economics,'' will discuss ``Clintonomics,'' the economy and tax and spending increases.

Connie Merritt, a registered nurse and lifestyle-improvement consultant, will speak on surviving and thriving during change and dealing with diverse and difficult people.

TRIB to have booth at trucking show

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif.—The Tire Retread Information Bureau will exhibit at the Mid-America Trucking show, March 25-27 at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.

The TRIB booth will include retreaded and repaired truck tires and promotional hand-out materials about retreading and tire repairing.

``This is an excellent opportunity for retreaders and suppliers to learn first hand about truckers' concerns about retreads,'' said TRIB Managing Director Harvey Brodsky. ``The experience can be invaluable.''

    ITRA offering new telecom program

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The International Tire and Rubber Association has a new member benefit: a discount telecommunications program through long-distance provider UniDial.

The association negotiated a flat rate of 8.9 cents per minute for state-to-state calling, 24-hours a day, seven days a week, with six-second increment billing. ITRA said the rate is typically 20 percent to as much as 50 percent lower than what other companies charge.

Members can receive the savings on their residential or small-business long distance bills, and also qualify for a rate of 17.5 cents per minute on all calling card calls—with no per-call surcharge—and reduced rates on international service.

To enroll, members should contact Tim Roark, UniDial representative, at (888) 398-3425.
