DES MOINES, Iowa—Titan Tire Corp. has introduced what it's calling the ``biggest, baddest, meanest''—and largest—farm radial on the market. The Grizz LSW (low sidewall) 1100/45R46.5, for drive wheels, measures 85 inches tall, almost four feet wide and weighs 1,200 pounds.
The Des Moines-based firm said the new tire offers the widest and longest footprint of any four-wheel-drive tractor tire, with low footprint pressure for the lowest level of soil compaction and increased crop yields. It can run at reduced inflation pressures without compromising load-handling ability or operator control.
Following prototype testing, Titan said it anticipates the tire will be in production by the end of the first quarter.
