With so many negative stories written about the tire and automotive service industry, it was great to hear of a tire dealership winning a Better Business Bureau Award for good business ethics. Dakota-K Auto Repair and Tire Centers in Arlington Heights, Ill., believes there is only one way to operate a business—the ``right way.''

Owners Neil and Joan Koebernick begin talking about ethics during the hiring process and stress several policies to all employees.

These include: never selling something that isn't needed, communicating to customers which repairs can wait and treating customers as you would want to be treated.

By receiving the BBB's Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics for Chicago and northern Illinois, the two-outlet tire dealership also is in the running for the national award which will be presented in March.

Congratulations to the Koebernicks and their entire Dakota-K crew!
