TANA group names chairman-elect NASHUA, N.H.—The Supplier Group of the Tire Association of North America has named Wayne Croswell of ASA Tire Systems as its chairman-elect.

Mr. Croswell, who will replace current Chairman Don Hunter of G.E. Capital Leasing in 2000, has been a member of the Supplier's Group executive committee since 1995.

``A tremendous amount of progress has been made this past year in redefining the TANA organization, and with the new leadership this year, I am confident that progress will continue,'' Mr. Croswell said. ``I look forward to the opportunity of chairing the group as we enter the next millennium.''

    TTDA offers tire repair training

AUSTIN, Texas—The Texas Tire Dealers Association is sponsoring a certified tire service technician program to boost the professionalism of tire repair and servicing.

The program, administered through the TTDA, features a video on tire repair basics, followed by a demonstration of the materials, tools and techniques used in common nail hole repairs.

The training concludes with a basic test to evaluate the technician's understanding of the procedures. Those successfully completing the program will receive a certificate and a patch identifying them as a ``certified professional.''

For more information, contact the TTDA at: (800) 844-8748.
