TANA group names chairman-elect NASHUA, N.H.—The Supplier Group of the Tire Association of North America has named Wayne Croswell of ASA Tire Systems as its chairman-elect.
Mr. Croswell, who will replace current Chairman Don Hunter of G.E. Capital Leasing in 2000, has been a member of the Supplier's Group executive committee since 1995.
``A tremendous amount of progress has been made this past year in redefining the TANA organization, and with the new leadership this year, I am confident that progress will continue,'' Mr. Croswell said. ``I look forward to the opportunity of chairing the group as we enter the next millennium.''
TTDA offers tire repair training
AUSTIN, Texas—The Texas Tire Dealers Association is sponsoring a certified tire service technician program to boost the professionalism of tire repair and servicing.
The program, administered through the TTDA, features a video on tire repair basics, followed by a demonstration of the materials, tools and techniques used in common nail hole repairs.
The training concludes with a basic test to evaluate the technician's understanding of the procedures. Those successfully completing the program will receive a certificate and a patch identifying them as a ``certified professional.''

NWTDA convention set for Feb. 10-12
KENNEWICK, Wash.—The Northwest Tire Dealers Association will hold its annual convention and trade show Feb. 10-12 at the airport Holiday Inn in Portland, Ore.
The convention will feature a breakfast with Tire Association of North America President Jim Shook, keynote addresses from John Fahl, president of tire operations at Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., and from Marvin Bozarth, executive director of the International Tire and Rubber Association.
Seminars will discuss creating customer loyalty and how to prepare for Year 2000 computer problems.
