HAYWARD, Calif.—The Western States Tire & Automotive Service Association has named Ed King of CSTDA Insurance Services as its executive director, succeeding Stephanie McCoubrey, who resigned in November. Having been without an administrator for several months, the WSTASA, which represents dealers in northern California and Nevada, decided to cancel its annual convention, slated for April 10-13, in Reno, Nev., due to lack of time to organize it. Instead, the association is planning area meetings.
Meanwhile, Mr. King, who has merged the WSTASA offices with his CSTDA office in Hayward, began his duties Feb. 1. Mr. King said he will be serving on an interim basis until a new full-time executive director is hired.
Mr. King said he will be calling on the 320 WSTASA members to build better relations between the association and its membership and to re-educate members about the services offered through the association.
Mr. King, an insurance agent, incorporated CSTDA Insurance Services as the recommended insurance provider for the association more than 20 years ago. President Dave Redfern said conflict of interest is not a concern since Mr. King answers to the executive committee, which will meet on a monthly basis.
The WSTASA's new office address is: 1525 B St., Hayward, Calif. 94541; (510) 889-1100.
