NASHVILLE, Tenn.—David Laubie, director of engineering for Bridgestone/Fire-stone Inc. since 1992, recently received the Silver Spark Plug Award presented by The Maintenance Council (TMC), a division of the American Trucking Associations.
There were five recipients for the 1996 award, which is given in recognition of outstanding contributions—such as new ideas, practices or innovations—to the cause of improving commercial motor vehicle maintenance.
A member of TMC since 1982, Mr. Laubie has served as vice chair of the committee dealing with tires and wheels.
He joined Firestone's international division in 1970, and was production manager for three overseas tire plants. In 1982, he joined Bridgestone Corp.'s U.S. operations as tech services manager.
