QUINCY, Ill.—In order to focus on customer service and innovation, Titan Wheel International Inc. has reorganized its operating facilities into separate tire and wheel groups. The two new groups, Titan Tire Corp. and Titan Wheel Corp., provide a framework for worldwide expansion and increased profitability, the company said Jan. 6.
``Our success has been based on the talent of our people and this reorganization will allow each group to focus on improved customer service and faster innovation resulting in increased profits,'' according to Maurice Taylor Jr., Titan Wheel International president and CEO.
Mr. Taylor is serving as acting president of Des Moines, Iowa-based Titan Tire Corp. until that position can be permanently filled. Bill Campbell, former operations manager, has been promoted to vice president of Titan Tire Corp.
On the wheel side, Mike Samide has become president of the new Titan Wheel Corp., which is responsible for handling all wheel manufacturing and mounted assembly sales. Titan Wheel Corp.'s headquarters are in Quincy.
The company also announced it will ask its shareholders to approve a name change to Titan International in May. Titan will be the company's main brand and marketing name.
The global supplier of mounted tire and wheel systems for agricultural and other off-highway vehicles has manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout the U.S. and Europe.
