LAS VEGAS—Wheel Components Inc., Center Line Performance Wheels and Budnik Wheels were winners of the sixth annual Wheel of the Year awards at the recent Specialty Equipment Market Association/Auto International show in Las Vegas. Wheel Components' Epic Prowler and Center Line's Hellcat co-won the one-piece category, while Budnik's Raptor took top honors for a multipiece wheel.
The Prowler, Series 52, is a sporty five-spoke design with accented windows. The one-piece alloy wheel is custom chrome plated and available in forward-wheel-drive sizes 15x7, 16x7.5 and 17x7.5 and rear-wheel-drive sizes 16x7.5 and 17x7.5.
Belonging to Center Line's Concord Series of road wheels, the cast aluminum Hellcat, Style 34, is designed for light truck applications. The design features a five-point star center with a fully polished finish. It is available in sizes 15x7, 15x8, 15x10 and 16x8.
Based on the popular Trilogy III, Budnik's Raptor blends its forged-aluminum construction into a space-aged center design. The wheel is available in 15- through 20-inch diameters.
Votes were cast for four finalists in each category by industry representatives attending the show. Finalists were selected on the basis of originality, quality, styling and construction.
