NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Pensler Capital Corp., which recently purchased United Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. and Denman Tire Corp., has expressed interest in buying the closed Pirelli Armstrong Tire Corp. plant in Nashville, Tenn.
In October, Pensler joined a list of tire makers that had inspected the plant, which PATC closed in November after several suitors failed to buy a stake or complete control in the operation.
AKRON—After nearly two decades, Goodyear has re-entered the bond market with the Dec. 9 issue of $250 million worth of 10-year notes at 6.625 percent.
The tire maker will realize about $249 million from the sale, which it will use for debt repayment, future acquisitions, capital expenditures and working capital, a spokesman said.
