WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Transportation issues plant identification codes noting the place of manufacture for all tires for highway use. Some codes officially listed by the D.O.T. were omitted from this page because their plants have been out of operation for a number of years. A closed plant's code remains active for five to 10 years since tires with that code can still be in service.
