Dana Corp. has released its PerfectAlign DOS-based software that can determine alignment needs and match ``adjustable'' parts to each vehicle.
The software provides part numbers, cost estimates, prices and installation instructions. The program also allows operators to input pricing and record parts suppliers' names and telephone numbers.
Part installation instructions are provided for technicians and educational screens are available to show customers the need for complete alignment services, the company said.
PerfectAlign is Windows com-patible with IBM 286 or higher-powered personal computers.
The company also released its Quickit set of adjustable shims and bushings to align 255 passenger cars, light trucks and minivans with 19 part numbers.

The Quick-Cams replace non- adjustable original equipment locking plates on 1997 F-Series 4X2 pickups and as a replacement unit on 4X4 pickups. The cams provide a 1 1/4-degree positive or negative adjustment and a 3/8-inch square ``quick adjust'' feature for easy settings. Each kit includes four quick-cams and spacers.
The company's new camber tool allows controlled adjustment of camber on 1994 and newer Mustangs. The tool is reversible to fit either side of the vehicle.

General Motors Service Parts Operations has released a new line of ACDelco brakes for the aftermarket. The DuraStop Brake series, with more than 9,500 part numbers, covers more than 95 percent of domestic and import passenger cars and light trucks dating back to 1976, the company said. Select medium-duty trucks also are covered.
The new line features a limited lifetime warranty on disc brake pads and drum brake shoes. All other brake parts carry a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty. The company said DuraStop is the first aftermarket line to be tested according to SAE J1652, an approved Brake Manufacturers Council test procedure.

Performance Marketing Inc. said it has designed Brake Alert, a safety device that can alert drivers when ``brake fade'' may occur.
The device monitors the temperature for brake fluid housings. Warning lights indicate brake temperatures of 200 and 250 degrees Fahrenheit. A red light and an audible alarm warn the driver that a brake has reached 300 degrees and might not operate properly.

Snap-on Tools Co. released a uniquely shaped pair of pliers and two new screwdrivers.
The Stork Pistol-Grip plier's pistol-shaped grip yields more leverage than conventional pliers and provides an angle for working on flat surfaces, the company said. The tool also features serrated jaw grooves and a spring that holds the jaws open until closed.
The company said it also has designed a pistol-grip ratcheting screwdriver that can deliver twice the turning power of standard ratcheting screwdrivers. The tool comes with a forward-lock-reverse selection ring and an easy-to-see orange handle. Bits are stored in the unit's base.
Snap-on's new composite, insulating screwdrivers have a non-conductive braided epoxy/glass fiber coating to resist insulation-reducing scratches. High-strength alloy steel bits are attached to the shank by a composite sleeve.

Designed for wholesale tire dealers, the TireLink Order Entry System allows customers to dial into the wholesaler's system to check inventory availability and prices. A message system allows the wholesaler to communicate personalized information or special incentives. Customers can enter their own orders.
ASA also has released Credit Management Version 8.03, which performs credit checks on customers in order entry and allows users to place orders on and off credit hold. Users also can create, maintain and print dun letters.
