WASHINGTON-The National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association has developed a number of programs to help facilitate ``an international exchange of ideas'' during its Atlanta trade show and convention, Sept. 5-7. New to this year's convention is the association's Assembly of Nations-a two-hour gathering designed ``to encourage informal conversation and create a setting conducive to large-scale networking,'' the NTDRA said.
Interpreters will be provided and international foods will be featured during the event, which will take place from 5-7 p.m., Sept. 6.
The NTDRA said it also will operate an International Business Center staffed with multilingual personnel during the convention.
The association is hoping to entice international representatives to this year's convention by scheduling tours of a ``state-of-the-art retreading plant,'' a major wholesaling operation and a tire retailer. The group also has retained a marketing firm to promote the convention throughout Europe and Latin America.
